Saturday April 5th Algeciras-Ifrane

Going south

Ferry-Border crossing.

The first day in Morocco we will go straight to the south, doing more than 400 kms (almost all of them in the motorway) to reach Ifrane « The door of the Atlas mountains ».

Sunday April 6th Ifrane-Imilchil

The Atlas mountains

On Sunday you will have the first real adventure journey, with a lot of of-road tracks crossing the Azrou forests, and crossing very small towns while driving up to the Atlas, and reaching high altitude. After that we’ll head Imilchil, where we’ll spend the night at 2200m high. Hope it won’t be to cold!!

Monday April 7th Imilchil-Tinehir

Camping night

We will start the day with good driving through amazing roads, enjoying very impressive landscapes and views of the high mountains; you will reach more than 3000m high with your Golfs in the way to the the Dades gorge. On the restaurant with the panoramic view over the Dades road, we’ll stop to have lunch togheter. After that we’ll leave all at the same time, will all the Golf driving at the same time in this spectacular place. The stage will end in Tinehir, a town with all services, garages, banks, shops, etc.

Tuesday April 8th Tinehir-Ouzina

Desert’s door

After spending the first days in the Atlas, on Tuesday we will drive through a very different areas ; We’ll start the day with a nice offroad track with desertic views on our way to Tafroud . From there we will continue our way to Ouzina in the south following 100 kms of offroad tracks. Night in desert camp, next to the dunes.

Wednesday April 9th Ouzina-Erg Chebbi

Navigation challenge

On this day we will have a lot of off-road tracks in the middle of the desert. The views will be absolutely amazing again. Be ready to enjoy every single km on the way to Erg Chebbi. And by the way, be also ready for pushing in the sand. Hopefully the first cars will get stuck haha. Night in a second camp, quite comfortable by the way.

Thursday April 10th Erg Chebbi-Erfoud

After a lot of days of long driving journeys, this day you will have the shortest track of all. Though, as an option you will be able to drive on one of the old Dakar tracks, on the way to a restaurant in the middle of nowhere. In the evening, we will continue all way to Erfoud. There again we will have workshops, shops, banks etc, and we will stay in the best hotel of the week, a 4* lux.

Friday April 11th Erfoud-Midelt

Closing Party

After many days in the desert, on Friday we’ll start to drive to the north. In the morning you’ll cross the Ziz Valley, with more than 200.000 palms, and then straight to the Plateau de Rekkam with the last off road tracks of the trip. After that we will be crossing the Atlas again to reach Midelt. There we will stay in the Taddart hotel, known for the biggest VWGC parties ever. And yep, we will have another one. So get ready to have fun.

Saturday April 12th Midelt-Tanger Med-Algeciras

Back home

After the end of the party in Meteorites, on Saturday you’ll have a easy road track on the way to Nador. Once there, you’ll have the opportunity to relax while waiting the ferry, by discussing with VWGC friends all the experience lived during the week.
