The first day in Morocco we will go straight to the south, doing more than 400 kms (almost all of them in the motorway) to reach Ifrane « The door of the Atlas mountains ».
Dinner and night in a Apartments 4 per Apartment
On our first day of true adventure, we will start the journey across the magnificent forrest of the Ifrane region. After the first kilometers off-roading we will take the route again in order to head south. Our goal, to reach Arfoud, known as the desert door. On the way, we will have the opportunity to stop by a local association focused on the progress of the Errachidia region. There you will be able to deliver some of your furnitures before continuing to the south.
A new journey will start in an amazing scenario: the desert. So get ready to get really dusty and dirty because we will drive across vast extensions heading event more to the south. On our way to Ouzina, though, you will see a very different desert of what you could have expected. For the first time in many many years, you will see a green desert. That’s simply because of the big storms and flooding of the desert from few months ago, and it’s extremely unusual. At the end of the stage we will get to Ouzina, where we will have a camping installed specially for us. There, we will celebrate a particular local bereber party with the Golf Challenge touch.
After having discovered what driving in the desert feels like, today we will drive straight to our 2nd camp by road. The reason? No other than today we will be driving around the Erg Chebbi desert, which means we will have to unload our cars. So once in Belle étoile luxury camp -with haimas having proper beds and event toilet and shower-, we will leave all our staff to start the stage as light as possible. In our track we will have to drive in the sand and we will need our bed skills to not get stuck. If you don’t get stack in the sand, though, we will be extremely disappointed. It’s a tradition if not a must. To get out you will need to help each other and really leave the VWGC spirit.
After having spent 2 days in the desert, today we will head north-west. After leaving the sand behind, we will drive for more than 100 kms to Alnif, and from there we will drive on tracks up to the Anti-Atlas mountains. We will reach up to 2000m, and will have to face even a really steep track. So no pressure, but if at this point you have experienced some overheating or clutch problems in your car, you’d better take the road instead of the off-road tracks. In any case, the landscapes and views of the mountains will be really astonishing so just try to make it to the full track, it’s worth it. Out destination on this day won’t be other than Tinghir, staying in the Bougafer hotel, a classic in the Vw Golf Challenge. There will take place the Custom party where all the VWGC family will get dressed to celebrate the 10th edition of the Challenge taking place in Morocco. Enjoy!
Hotel 4*
After a crazy night party, we hope you will still feel energetic to complete a new stage. For a second day on a row a fantastic off-road track across the Anti Atlas mountains is waiting for us. More than 70 kms of pure emptiness, mindblowing geography and landscapes you will never forget. Again, like the previous day, you will find some hard tracks, but most of the stage will be easy and perfect to enjoy the driving. Our destination for today: a cinematographic town, Ouarzazate, where hundreds of movies have been shot.
Hotel 4*.
After many days driving in the mountains, desert and more mountains, our adventure will come to an end. Despite that, on our last day we will still have a chance to drive in off-road tracks. Leaving Ouarzazate behind, we will head north on a great and fun to drive gravel track that will take us to Ait Ben Haddou. There we will drive back to tarmac, but all the stage from there to Marrakech will be still fantastic. We will drive on the ancient Kasbah route to the famous Coll the Titchka, that will lead us to the north of the Atlas mountains. From there we will make it to Marrakech where will take place the oficial closing dinner for this 2025 edition. From there, we expect you will have enjoyed very much, creating unforgettable memories that will go back home with you and stay in your minds for ever.
After the oficial closing dinner, on Saturday you’ll be able to leave whenever you’d prefer. As you know, the ferry tickets are open, which means you can take any of all. You have one every 3 hours the 24h of the day. So no worries. Safe way back home, thank you!
